{"id":473,"date":"2011-07-05T07:00:35","date_gmt":"2011-07-05T15:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?p=473"},"modified":"2011-07-05T07:00:35","modified_gmt":"2011-07-05T15:00:35","slug":"photo-booth-propsmasks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?p=473","title":{"rendered":"Photo Booth Props\/Masks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The other day I noticed a <a href=\"http:\/\/ohhappyday.com\/2011\/05\/photobooth-props-diy-and-free-printable-2\/\">post on this blog about DIY Photobooth Props<\/a> while I was perusing the internet. \u00a0Because my husband Gavin is very into the whole photobooth idea and loves taking pictures of people with props, I sent him the link. \u00a0He, of course, was <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-474\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=474\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-474\" title=\"Photobooth Coloring\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jsgreene.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09528-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09528-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09528.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>enthused and thought it&#8217;d be a great idea to make the props for the family reunion we&#8217;re going to on his side of the family, 4th of July weekend, up in Chester, CA.<\/p>\n<p>When it got down to the time to start making the masks, he wanted me to help him make some, but didn&#8217;t want to use the downloadable PDF that the blog offered for the masks that they used. \u00a0I was initially a little anxious about this and asked him to find me samples of things he wanted to be made into masks. \u00a0Gavin took this to heart and sent <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-477\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=477\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-477\" title=\"Photobooth Coloring 2\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jsgreene.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09561-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09561-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09561.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>me ideas galore: mustaches,\u00a0\u00a0top hat, party hat, groucho glasses, t-rex claws and fangs, bling necklace, bow-tie, monocle, neck ruffle and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>So, I grabbed some 8.5&#215;11&#8243; cardstock and began drawing. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t measure out anything, so it is a little remarkable that I got the sizing for the hats and the glasses and stuff fairly dead-on. \u00a0Some of the stuff isn&#8217;t exactly right, but I suppose it&#8217;s close enough. \u00a0After I drew the basic shape, I outlined in thick, black marker, both for <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-475\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=475\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-475\" title=\"Photobooth Coloring 3\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jsgreene.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09533-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09533-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09533.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>definition and also for a little bit of grace when cutting out. \u00a0I then colored in the drawing with crayons, my first time using crayons in a number of years. \u00a0It was surprisingly fun to break out a box of new crayons and go to town &#8212; it reminded me of the absolute pleasure of doing that when I was a kid. \u00a0And, as my friend Jenn points out, the crayons as medium reinforces the whimsy of the whole project. \u00a0After coloring, I spray-glued the drawings onto foam core <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-476\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsgreene.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=476\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-476\" title=\"Photobooth Cutting Out\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jsgreene.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/20110626_09540-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>board and cut them out. \u00a0Gavin then took them and attached the sticks to them.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really very pleased with how they came out &#8212;
